Hi, I'm 42 years young and started smoking at 19 years of age. I stopped smoking six years ago and I was the reason behind my wife stopping to smoke.
I started smoking 2007 and have stopped again and am going on to three months without a cigarette.

I learnt that if we don't have a valid, workable reason to stop smoking, then we'll never be truly free of this vile slave-maker. If we stop, we stop for ourselves and nobody but ourselves. Not for our health, our wife, our jobs but for US, lastly, avoid people who are smokers and who envy us just because they haven't the guts to quit themselves. Respect all, offend no-one.

Good Luck,
Rui

I am recovering from nicotine addiction, i feel calm, refreshed and clean. I have color in my cheeks and my eyes sparkle. I get my fix from exercise and fresh air instead of sucking on a cigarette.

If you want to get free from tobacco, all you have to do is NEVER TAKE ANOTHER PUFF!

It was one of the hardest things I ever did! My big problem was that I saw life without smoking as a negative. Turning that around was the problem. I didn't feel good or healthier after I stopped and that didn't help either.
The plain fact was that I did not want to smoke any more and after loads of goes at 'trying to give up' I actually said, and more to the point, thought, 'I am going to stop smoking'.
Now, after 15 years I cannot believe I used to stick those things in my mouth let alone set fire to them!
All I can say to anyone who wants to stop then just do it. Its hard but its possible.
If you have the slightest doubt then don't try and carry on smoking. But if you can honestly say 'I am going to stop forever' then you will.
Oh, when you have stopped, don't be horrible to those that still do! Its their choice just like it is yours to quit.
Just say 'I don't smoke anymore' believe it, then you won't

All the best
