stop smokingWhen do the benefits of stopping smoking start you may ask? well the good news is almost straight away so that is something to be very thankful for as far as your health is concerned regards stopping smoking.

Once you stop smoking your risks of contracting certain diseases begins to come into effect almost straight away, you will stop yourself from getting some of these particular life-threatening diseases heart disease, lung cancer, throat cancer.

There may be other non life-threatening problems that will also come back once you stop smoking, if you have suffered from impotence (getting a erection) cataract problems which are to do with your eyes. Your clothes won’t smell like a stale ashtray any more.

You will feel a lot healthier and probably far less likely to suffer from respiratory problems, such as smokers cough which can become worse in the winter especially if you suffer from bronchitis. If you quit smoking before the age of 35 the actual health risks decreased to that of a person whom has never smoked at all.

So here is what happens when you abstain from smoking

Within 72 hours your breathing will become much better, your energy levels will probably come back the tubes in your lungs will start to clear.

Within one month your skin will look better more clearer and healthily and less grey and wrinkled looking, people who smoke for a long period of time can tend to look older than people who don’t smoke. It takes the moisture from your skin and making it look more like a prune. After about three to nine months you will notice that you no longer cough or wheeze like you used to also your lung function will start to increase roughly by about 10 percent.

Once you go past the one-year mark than your risk of having any cardiovascular problems such as a heart attack, or a stroke, comes down to about half that of someone who still smokes.

After 10 years you are far less likely to contract lung cancer and this risk becomes half that of somebody who still smokes, and finally after 15 years you’re far less likely to have a heart attack as regards to somebody who has never smoked.

There are a few other reasons to stop smoking these are food will taste better generally, your house won’t smell of cigarettes. You will have more money in your pocket which you properly never even thought about whilst you were smoking.

A rough estimate of this is if you smoke 20 cigarettes per day for seven days a week the whole year round. You will save yourself 1000 pounds or 2000 dollars that in itself would pay for a nice holiday or some other luxury, instead of just going up in smoke.

And if you are in a relationship your partner will no longer have to do feel like they are kissing a ashtray.Smokeless Cigarettes

It was one of the hardest things I ever did! My big problem was that I saw life without smoking as a negative. Turning that around was the problem. I didn’t feel good or healthier after I stopped and that didn’t help either.
The plain fact was that I did not want to smoke any more and after loads of goes at ‘trying to give up’ I actually said, and more to the point, thought, ‘I am going to stop smoking’.
Now, after 15 years I cannot believe I used to stick those things in my mouth let alone set fire to them!
All I can say to anyone who wants to stop then just do it. Its hard but its possible.
If you have the slightest doubt then don’t try and carry on smoking. But if you can honestly say ‘I am going to stop forever’ then you will.
Oh, when you have stopped, don’t be horrible to those that still do! Its their choice just like it is yours to quit.
Just say ‘I don’t smoke anymore’ believe it, then you won’t

All the best
Howard

I am recovering from nicotine addiction, i feel calm, refreshed and clean. I have color in my cheeks and my eyes sparkle. I get my fix from exercise and fresh air instead of sucking on a cigarette.

If you want to get free from tobacco, all you have to do is NEVER TAKE ANOTHER PUFF!

Hi, I’m 42 years young and started smoking at 19 years of age. I stopped smoking six years ago and I was the reason behind my wife stopping to smoke.
I started smoking 2007 and have stopped again and am going on to three months without a cigarette.

I learnt that if we don’t have a valid, workable reason to stop smoking, then we’ll never be truly free of this vile slave-maker. If we stop, we stop for ourselves and nobody but ourselves. Not for our health, our wife, our jobs but for US, lastly, avoid people who are smokers and who envy us just because they haven’t the guts to quit themselves. Respect all, offend no-one.

Good Luck,
Rui
